Course & Paid Positions: Leadership in Community-Based Conservation

UConn’s Natural Resources Conservation Academy ( is recruiting UConn undergraduate students for paid leadership positions as Difference Maker Mentors. Difference Maker Mentors serve as program leaders and near-peer mentors (visit our website and flyer to learn more). Undergrads must take a 1-credit spring course (NRE 4695 sec 3: Leadership in Community-Based Conservation; see to be eligible to apply for the positions. 


We are looking for undergrads from diverse majors (do not need to be in a STEM major) and backgrounds who are interested in mentoring teens, working collaboratively on projects that benefit local communities and environments, and implementing culturally relevant, equitable and inclusive environmental practices.
